8. Alfred H. (Henry?) COPPOCK (1) was born in Dec 1831 in Tennessee. He died between 1866 and 1868 in Saline County, Arkansas. Alfred and family were in Davis Township, Saline County, Arkansas in 1860.
Joined Confederate Army 6/18/1861. He was a private in Co. K, 2nd Ark. Infantry and was captured 9/18/1863. While captured he may have had contact with his cousin David Milton Coppock near Indianapolis. He eventually was released on 5/18/1865 after signing a loyalty oath. The oath includes a physical description: Florid; hair Light; eyes blue;Height 5' 10 3/4" remarks: captured at Chicamauga, GA 20/ Sept. 1863. He returned to Arkansas after the war. Alfred's youngest son Luke told his son Ernest that Alfred was hung by Carpetbaggers between 1866 and 1868 near Detonti, Saline County and was buried at a site which is now an aluminum waste dump. He was married to Mary Ann SHAW on Apr 19 1853 in McMinn County, Tennessee.

9. Mary Ann SHAW was born about 1839 in Tennessee.(2) Children were:

child i. Aaron Fluker COPPOCK was born in Mar 1854 in Tennessee or Georgia. according to the 1860 and 1870 census respectively. Lived in Lafayette County, Arkansas in 1900 and 1910.
child ii. John R. COPPOCK was born about 1856 in Arkansas. Lived in Moro Township, Calhoun County, Arkansas at the 1880 census.
child iii. Washington Alexander COPPOCK was born on Oct 12 1857 in Arkansas.
child iv. Mary Ann (Mollie) COPPOCK was born on Aug 22 1858 in Arkansas. She died on Sep 1 1930.
child4 v. Luke Alfred Fletcher COPPOCK.
