Stranger In A Dream
Doug Coppock
In a dream a stranger came
And told me many things
She talked of life and death and love
And what makes a robin sing
I don't remember how she looked
Or half she had to say
But there's a few things ringing in my head
That just won't go away
She talked of time and what it's made of
And the measurements we use
She said we're wrong to waste it
We don't have time to lose
Every golden moment slips away so fast
And there is no hidden secret
That will help to make it last
She said we're wrong to think we're strong
We don't know what strength is
And life is what we make it if we use our time to live
And death is what's left over if we don't have time for love
And love is what we're living for
That's what time's made of
In a dream a stranger came
And told me many things
She talked of life and death and love
And what makes a robin sing
I don't remember how she looked
Or half she had to say
But there's a few things ringing in my head
That just won't go away
